The Fast of Daniel is based on an event described in chapter 10 of the book of Daniel, where for 21 Days, Daniel decided to fast in order to find favour, wisdom and understanding from God.
Nowadays, amongst the list of things that get in the way of our relationship with God, distractions are ever present and they come in all forms of entertainment and secular information which constantly bombard us. That’s exactly what the Fast of Daniel is for: to open our ears to the voice of God.
Furthermore, life has an expiration date, and at all times we have to deal with the consequences of our decisions, and sadly, many are those who are spending their life in sinful practices, wrongdoings and injustices.
This is your chance. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that doing this for 21 days is too much, because, whether or not you participate in this fast, these three weeks will pass by. However, those who will take part of it with determination and sincerity will be transformed, renewed and baptised in the Holy Spirit.
Perhaps, you’re having bad eyes, your heart is full of pride, your anxiety and worries have led you to make hasty decisions, amongst other things. We’ll sacrifice all these, putting aside our will so that we can hear the Voice of God.
Bad conversations, secular information and music are not allowed during this period. You will be focused on seeking the Holy Spirit, meditating on the Word of God, reading church books and messages on Bishop Macedo’s blog, and attend the online services as often as you can, especially Sundays at 9:30am.
Let’s give more of ourselves to God so we may receive more from Him. Also, those who already have the Holy Spirit will focus on becoming better servants so that they can serve God better!
