Special Work in the Cemetery
Losing someone whom we love is part of our life. But it doesn't spare us from grieving. Sometimes it can feel like grief is never ending. And we give our love to those who are mourning still because of the loss of their loved ones by comforting them with the word of encouragement. "who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God." (2 Corinthians 1:4)
Night Angels in Korukkupet - India
"And above all things have fervent love for one another,..." (1 Peter 4:8) The UCKG Night Angels group organized a special camp for the needy and afflicted people where they were offered free basic health check up, manicure and pedicure services along with a meal. People who came for the first time, were given a word of faith and hope for them to know that there's a solution for their problems and their lives could be changed. Through prayers and counselling, many people were healed from their sickness and received spiritual support. People were also freed from depression and suicidal thoughts. It was a great joy for us to see those people leaving the camp with happiness, faith and hope for their lives.
Tea Distribution - Night Angels
Our Church is closed during lockdown every Friday, Saturday and Sunday than we create a refreshment time by serving a cup of Hot Tea to those who would have been gone through a tiresome day! In this wonderful opportunity, our Night Angels served the public - a cup of Tea with lots of Love. And indeed, as we always see that little care and attention shown at the unexpected moment brings them joy and creates a good impact among the people. The Church is closed but we can never stop doing what is good to our neighbors. “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.” Galatians 6:9-10
Helping people is what drives us! Blood is essential for human life and the need of blood is constant. When you give blood, you're giving a priceless gift to someone who strives to survive. Aiming to support to those who are in need of blood, the UCKG HelpCentre organized a blood donation camp along with Lions Blood Bank and Research Centre on 19 September 2021 in Chennai. Many people volunteered to donate blood. It was a privilege to be a part of this great deed of saving lives.
Special Work in the Cemetery
Although everybody knows that the death is inevitable, nobody is prepared to face it especially when it is about losing your loved one. The pain of loss brings profound sadness in one's soul. And coping with it is one of life's biggest challenges. Not everyone wins that challenge and many are carrying that grief for life time without a hope of finding relief, thinking that nobody cares for them. Thus word of God says," “Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties. After all, everyone dies— so the living should take this to heart. Sorrow is better than laughter, for sadness has a refining influence on us. A wise person thinks a lot about death, while a fool thinks only about having a good time.” Ecclesiastes 7:2-4 For the first time in India, We, UCKG volunteers did this special work in cemetery aiming to help and to provide spiritual support to people whose spirit were crushed. We offered them our prayers, shared a word of faith, love, and encouragement with them. They were told that the pain, grief they go through, could not be removed by men even if they give their all. But our God can heal their broken hearts and wounded souls. We also offered them tea. Many were surprised because they would never thought that they would receive such a care and love in that place. The wise thing allot where there their souls go, and fight every single day to obey God’s commandments so we at the end can grant our Salvation, and be in heaven with our Lord.
Hygiene Kit Donation on Independence Day - India
Here we come again on this special Independence Day. Today, with the usual pride of marking its independence, India celebrates its 75th Independence Day. India gained independence on August 15, 1947, ending nearly 200 years of British rule. But how about us? When are we going to get out of the chain of COVID-19? When are we going to get rid of the germs, the social distancing and the masks that cover the beautiful smiles of so many loved ones? Of course, all this will only end if we unite as one nation. Based on this, UCKG India has extended its hand to the society through this social work, by coming one step forward, raising awareness among the people to fight this epidemic and to get rid of it completely. On this occasion, following all the guidelines of the government (SOP - Basic Operational Procedures), the volunteers of the UCKG Help Center provided the people of Anna Nagar with a beautiful hygiene kit containing basic hygiene products such as masks, gloves, hand sanitizers and soaps. In order to raise awareness about COVID-19, a brief preventive action tips were also given to the people by the volunteers as it is always said that "Prevention is better than cure".

We offered advice and showed them that there are other options in life even using our life testimonies. We offered them food and also gave support for those who wanted. "for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;" Matthew 25:35.
